Not an English Major, but...

I seem to have grown up to become a stickler for proper spelling, grammar, and word usage. I don't know why...I'm a civil engineer, for goodness sake!

I saw Steve Carell on with Conan O'Brien and he had a list of words that annoyed him and that he thought people should stop saying. That prompted me to start making a list of words/phrases that I found annoying, too :) Here are some of those annoyances:

-Liberry (Really...people say "liberry" instead of "library"! It's laziness not to pronounce words correctly!)
-Unravel (this has become a word in the dictionary, but really "to ravel" means to come undone)
-Debone (same thing as unravel, "to bone" is to remove the bones)
-Irregardless (this isn't even a real word!)
-Nucular (the incorrect pronunciation of "nuclear", again due to laziness!)

I'm sure I have more, I'll be sure to post them as I remember. Feel free to add any of your little annoyances!
